Hidden Expo certain(a) - Working Diary===============================This is a written analysis and evaluation of the creative processleading up to, and applied during, the leaping performance of HiddenExposure, based on Obsessive imperious Disorder and Dreams. Thepiece, was choreographed by Dance Performance Experience year 2, andperformed on January 13, 1998. The aims of this Dance Performancemodule were to adjudge newly learnt techniques, movement skills, and theresearch of existing practitioners, combine them with existing jumpskills and knowledge to create an original innovative danceperformance. Members of the class allow for choreograph sections, with thecommon theme, in pairs or individually that will be put together tocreate a collage style dance. for each one individually choreographed sectionshould make use of some recurring motifs and face contactimprovisation where possible.Before we started any of our own choreography we had to mold on astimuli. This is very imp ortant, as it will be the belief that allmovements are representing. This is called Ideational Stimuli and iswhen the movement is stimulated and formed with the endeavor toconvey an idea or tell a story.1, as fence to us taking a pieceof music and dancing to it. As a group we had many ideas to choosefrom but after slowness out the options we opted for OCD, ObsessiveCompulsive Disorder. The idea of counting within the perturb gives usa good basis for a dance, because we perform to a beat, or a count,usually of eight. It is an interesting subject with much reaching forcontact improvisation, or non-contact, as the sufferers would prefer.The stimulus for the dance, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, is acondition that affects approximately 2.5% of the UK population. Morecommon in females than males, the sufferer has an supine impulseto perform relatively meaningless acts repeatedly and in a specificmanner. Compulsive persons do not enjoy their ritualistic demeanourand view the activ ity as foreign to their personality. They areunaware of the giddiness of their behaviour and yet are unable to stopit. Compulsive leave washers may wash their hands several times in anhour. In addition to being time consuming, compulsions can be costlyto a persons well being. Other common compulsions are counting thingsto make sure that they are all there, checking the placements ofobjects, checking appliances are switched off, Exercising, cleaning,and feeling suffocated. (See appendix 1)A dance session should always start with a warm up this comprises of melt up the different body parts in a prototype of exercises.
